----Gunsight adjustments if using Bullet
DragGravity set to ON. Gun convergence
at 200 yards.----
If you do not set Bullet DragGravity ON,
and use the older bullet stream effect,
these sight adjustments are not
necessary, as the bullet streams all are
close to the pippers. Be aware that the
cannon bullet stream is lower than the
MG bullet stream in both the 109 and 110
in all cases,
except If you
set gun convergence to 100 yards,
then the cannon bullet stream appears
near the same point on the sight as do
the MG rounds.
Sights were adjusted using Bullet
DragGravity set to ON and Bullet
Dispersion set to OFF. Using dispersion
it was very difficult to judge the
proper point. Using Drag gravity ON is the best
way I could make the adjustments. A
baseline setting.
I did recheck using
dispersion and drag gravity both ON, and
the adjustments look good to me.
I also noticed that the bullet stream
will veer off to the right or left of
the sight pipper if you are facing
certain directions. For adjusting , I
used
the Tangmere Takeoff, and taxied to 180,
090, 000, and 270 degrees. At 180 and
000 headings the stream was straight
with no drift on or off.
off to either side of the pippers. This with wind effects, gusts
either
I used 180 degrees heading
for all adjusts.

To
Manually INSTALL RAF sights:
1. Down
load the RAF_Sights_Manually.zip to a
temporary folder. Backup the COCKMASK
and COCKPM16 folders.
2. Extract the files to the BOB root
directory. Files will go to their proper
folders.
3. The Hurricane and Spitfire sights
each have their own texture file. For
the Hurricane sight, they are in the
COCKPM16_Hurri folder,
For the Spitfire sight, they are in the
COCKMASK_Spit folder.
To
Manually INSTALL LW sights:
1. Down load the LoMan .zip files to a
temporary folder. Backup the
COCKPM16 folder.
All 3 of the LW aircraft share the
same texture file. :( They all have
different bullet stream characteristics
as per the sight position.
The Bf109 MG and cannon shoot
higher than the Bf110 MG and cannons.
The Stuka MG rounds shoot similar to the
Bf110, but not exactly.
All LW bullet streams are the same
HORIZONTALLY and I did not need to move
the LW sights left or right,
except the Stuka,
and it was only a 2
pixel correction.
So...
You have to choose only 1. Whatever your
preferred aircraft is. If it is the
Bf109, for example:
Open the BF109_sight_adjust LoMan .zip, copy and paste
SIGHT2 and SIGHT2_trans to the game's
COCKPM16 folder.
Confusing? This is why I use a mod
switching utility!
Makes it easier to switch files like
sights that share the same names in
different folders, plus some aircraft
share the same files... EERRRR!!

NOTES:
1. Spitfire. If you use Bullet
DragGravity set to ON, and use the
original Spit sight, your bullets will
stream way low and way to the right of
your
sight pipper. I had to radically move
the sight reflection down and to the
right or correction, so it looks "out of
place" in the reflector,
fif you use my
mod. Sorry, but it is true.
The big reason why I made this sight
correction mod!
2. LW sights. My sight is not
historically correct. The south reticle
has been shortened so that the tip
appears
exactly where the west and east
reticles
point. This is sighted in for the MG
rounds.
I added a cross to the south reticle.
This is sighted in for the Kanonen
rounds.
I could have extended the south reticle
about 6 pixels for the MG point, and
left the west/east reticles to
point to Kanonen rounds, but it does not
fit into my American way of thinking. ;)
If someone wishes that I do it the other
way, I will. Easy to do.
No cross is on my Stuka south reticle,
BTW.
Bf109 20mm
Bf109 MG
3. I tried several different EYE_Z_POS
postions when testing. Did not show a
difference to me.
4. Am I trying to split Frog hairs?
Maybe.
Turn Bullet DragGravity set to ON, and
Bullet Dispersion set to OFF.
Test it yourself on the ground and in
Dogfight/Turkey. Then set Bullet
Dispersion set to ON and test.
In my youth as a deer hunter, it was
ESSENTIAL to match the scope to the
30.06 Springfield
and later a .243 Winchester rifle bullet
placement at 100 yards.
6 years Navy collimating optics and
periscopes. Alignment had to be PERFECT,
optics completely clean. 23 years in
heavy industry
calibrating
instruments. This instrumentation is
never perfect, but it is
ESSENTIAL that the
indicators/controllers reflect and move
the process in the proper direction.
I think gun sights are important! :)
